How does it work?
RetractAlarm is designed to fit your existing smoke alarm, (no changes to the smoke alarm are carried out) Retractalarm fits between the smoke alarm and the ceiling. Using an umbrella,or a grab stick for example its simple to pull your smoke alarm down from the ceiling to make testing, cleaning, hush button operation, or battery changing possible at a more manageable and accessible height. Then with a small pull down on the retractalarm cord, you can gently retract the smoke alarm back to the ceiling position.

Why do I need RetractAlarm if my alarm is a 10 year alarm?
Market research has provided us with valuable information. Many smoke alarms are not tested because of the following reasons-
- The smoke alarm is difficult to reach after it has been fitted often above the stairs
- I cant remember the date when it was fitted, I just presume it will work
- it takes too much time getting a chair etc , it works when I burn the toast
Even if you do not need to change batteries, smoke alarms still need regular cleaning and maintenance according to manufacturers instructions.
Can you help the visually impaired?
The pull cord can be of different colours, sizes and lengths. For any special requirements please use the contacts page under the Help tab giving us as much information as possible
